fiona & brad

Fiona and Brad got married. On an exciting summer’s day. Exciting because… well, Melbourne has produced as fickle a summer as only Melbourne can. Bit of rain. Bit of shine. Four seasons in just one day is not a myth.

Didn’t matter of course. Never does. What matters is two people getting married. Standing up before their family and friends, the people they are closest to, and declaring that they want to spend the rest of their lives together.

Fiona got ready at Georges, Arthur’s Seat. Hidden. Stylish. Brilliant herb garden.Fiona was… breathtaking. Gorgeous. Amazing. The wedding was at Red Hill. Red Hill Estate. I love Red Hill. The light is always just glorious. The wineries are stylish, but relaxed – and so are the people who get married out there.Meet Brad. Happy. Relaxed. Yet with a kind of dogged determination that you cannot help but admire…Fiona was doing her very best to keep a lid on the whole excited to be getting married thing.

Not.Have to say – I really, really love this image. The whole bride with dad shot before walking down the aisle is just one of those pics you have to shoot. But it so doesn’t have to be a cliche…Fiona and Brad’s ceremony was very, very personal. And heartfelt. And beautiful. I can’t tell what was said. I can only show you glimpses…And then it was time to shoot the formal stuff. So often it seems almost like a tacked on addition to the beauty that I have already shot. So often the moments between tell a better story anyway…If I told you how liitle time we spent shooting those images you wouldn’t believe me. No, really. Melbourne can be COLD even in December. Didn’t matter. The real action was happening inside anyway.

Fiona and Brad. You were  brilliant to shoot. The thought you two put into your ceremony just blew me away. Thank you for letting me share the day.
